A. It all depends on your lifestyle and the type of system that you are wearing. Some systems are very delicate and some are very durable. Some clients get 3 months out of theirs and some get more than a year.

Q. What is a lace front base.

A. It is a very fine material like extra invisable nylon stockings that is impossible to see when it is placed against the head. The front edge of the system is the most important area and is the part that is always detected with a bad hair system. The hair looks like it is growing out of our head.

Q. What is the skin replica base?

A. It is made of poly skin and it blends with your scalp giving a very natural look.

Q. How do I remove my lace hair sytem without damaging it?

A. The hairsytem should be released from the hair side with Lace Release or alcohol. Spray it through and wait for the bond to release before lifting the hair system away.

Q. How do I remove the hair system with a poly at the edge?

A. Spray alcohol or lace release between the skin and tape to make it more comfortable to remove.

Q. What is the best way to remove the solvent etc. from the base in the hair?

A. Shampoo the unit and roll it in a towel and give it a quick shake.

Q. How often should I remove my hair system to clean it?

A. Everyone is different but you may not be the first to notice you have scalp odor and is unacceptable. If you have oily skin or sweat a lot, within one or two days. If you are dry and cool, much longer. Some people bond their hair systems for 3 to 4 weeks. It depends on your life style.

Q. How far forward should the hair system be worn?

A. New wearers of hair systems place the unit to far forward. They think it looks all right, but people really do not have hair growing out of their foreheads. The hairline should begin where your natural hairline would have begun. That is at least three fingers above your eyebrow.

Q. What about styling aids?

A. Avoid gels and mousses containing alcohol because they will dry out your hair systems. Hair serums are great for hair system hair.

Q. How do I shampoo with a unit in place?

A. Wet your hair and apply shampoo and create the beginnings of a lather without vigorously lathering. Run water over the hair to move the lather through your lace or monofilament to the scalp below and allow the lather to remain there for awhile before rinsing. Pat or block very gently with a towel. Do not comb wet hair. Wait until hair dries before combing.

Q. What kind of conditioners should I use?

A. Use leave-in conditioner. It is best to use a tiny amount of conditioner.
